About GetSchoolsInfo

Welcome to GetSchoolsInfo – India's independent school discovery platform helping parents make informed enrollment decisions based on objective, data-driven insights.

Who We Are

GetSchoolsInfo is not affiliated with any government entity. We are an independent platform that makes government education data accessible and actionable for parents across India.

Mission

To democratize access to school quality data so every child finds the right learning environment.

What We Do

We transform complex UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus) government data into parent-friendly school quality metrics.

Faculty Quality (30%) – Student-teacher ratio, training, PG qualifications, staff stability
Infrastructure (25%) – Classrooms, library, playground, overcrowding check, furniture
Safety & Hygiene (20%) – Boundary wall, toilets, drinking water, fire safety, medical checkups
Digital Readiness (15%) – Internet, ICT labs, smart boards, devices per student
Inclusivity (10%) – Wheelchair ramps, CWSN toilets, special needs support
Fee Transparency – Complete cost breakdown with district average comparison

How We Score Schools

Every school on GetSchoolsInfo receives a weighted quality score out of 100 across 5 dimensions, calculated entirely from official UDISE+ 2024-25 data. No surveys, no paid placements, no subjective opinions.

Faculty Quality30 points

Student-teacher ratio (graduated: ≤20 best, 20-30 good, 30-40 fair), teacher training %, postgraduate qualifications %, regular vs contract staff ratio. Faculty is the highest-weighted dimension — research consistently shows teacher quality is the single biggest predictor of learning outcomes.

Infrastructure25 points

Classrooms in good condition (graduated by count), library, playground, students-per-classroom overcrowding check (≤30 ideal, 30-45 acceptable), furniture availability percentage.

Safety & Hygiene20 points

Pucca boundary wall, drinking water access, functioning toilets for both genders, fire safety equipment, handwash facilities, medical checkup provision, electricity supply.

Digital Readiness15 points

Internet connectivity, dedicated ICT lab, smart boards and projectors (graduated by count), computing devices per 100 students.

Inclusivity10 points

Wheelchair ramps, CWSN-accessible toilets, special needs (CWSN) education support. Ensures schools are accessible to children with disabilities.

Scoring thresholds are calibrated against official benchmarks:

NEP 2020National Education Policy — PTR ≤30, digital classrooms
RTE Act 2009Right to Education — PTR ≤30, infrastructure minimums
CBSE AffiliationCBSE norms — labs, library, playground, qualified staff
UNESCO SDG 4Quality Education — inclusivity, teacher qualifications

Every metric uses graduated scoring — not just yes/no. A school with 20 classrooms scores higher than one with 3. A student-teacher ratio of 15 scores higher than 35. This mirrors real-world quality differences that binary checks miss.

Why We Built This

Finding the right school shouldn't require decoding government databases or relying on word-of-mouth. We believe every parent deserves:

  • Transparent information about school quality
  • Objective comparisons based on national standards
  • Location-based search to discover nearby schools
  • Free access to data that's already public but hard to navigate

Our Commitment

  • Data AccuracyWe refresh school data periodically from UDISE+ sources
  • Objective AnalysisNo paid promotions or school partnerships
  • Privacy FirstYour search data stays private
  • Continuous ImprovementWe refine our algorithms based on parent feedback

What We're NOT

✕ A government website or UDISE+ portal
✕ An official school rating body
✕ A school admission platform
✕ A replacement for in-person visits
